The
Accommodation
Scovare is a Fales Navigator motor-sailor
built to have all the room and comfort of a power vessel with all the sea
keeping ability, safety and range of a displacement sailing vessel. She has
sailed through the Caribbean and up to Alaska where she worked for five years as a charter vessel.
In 2004 she went through a major refit with a new 80 HP turbo diesel engine
installed, a new interior fitted with comfortable berths for six (two doubles
and two singles), new sails cut, a custom sailing dinghy built, and accessories
like a washing machine and microwave installed.
Her interior is voluminous with almost 7 feet of headroom and can seat 9 for
dinner. Her main cockpit is over 9’ long and positioned with a commanding view
of the water. She has an outside and an inside steering station, powers at 7.2
knots @1700 RPM and you will see over 8 knots at times while sailing her in the
trade winds. She has a large comfortable head and hot shower below decks with
capacity for 300 gallons of fresh water. Scovare does everything well and with
style.
